WEDNESDAY 8/14

Hump Day is here and may I ask you: What are you working on today? Me? I have not touched anything crochet in several days, long story…

Well as you know Christmas is right around the corner and my goal this year is still to make it a Handmade Christmas, that concept is going to be with me for a very long time. Let us get back some of the creativeness of our past generations, and hopefully inspire the newer generations.

Today let us look at one item that I have never tried to crochet, The Formidable Sock to me it looks daunting but I know with practice it could become a favorite, what do you think?

Please enjoy the parade courtesy of google images 🙂

See You Soon…

  1. I like your idea of a handmade Christmas! Two Christmas’ ago I made for my nieces and nephews family tree scrapbooks. Took a lot of research and phone calls since my family line only constitutes half their genes, but it was worth it. I was able to go back as far as the early 1800s and they all LOVED it!

  4. My favorite is the beige with green toes, pink heels and the decorative touch on the top. I admire the Handmade Christmas – for me, homemade is better than just about anything! Good luck and keep us posted, you’re just a pleasure to read 🙂

Love a handmade Christmas! I did that a little last year; the majority of the gifts I gave were crocheted or baked. I love the idea of crochet socks but have always been intimidated by the patterns. I never understand how to make the heel. Maybe we can both conquer our fears this year 🙂
    Blessings!

  6. I started back on my loom knitting a couple of nights ago…but the yarn bored me so, I had to put it away. Guess it is time to go yarn shopping. The little socks with the buttons…adorable.

  8. If I work on anything (my son’s coming to supper!) It will be my Granny Ripple blanket. Yay! Haven’t touched it for weeks and I was planning on having it for the coming winter. [Not even half way through 😦 ] Loved the pictures of the socks – so tempting to start another pair.
