TGIF 9/25/15

Thank God it is Friday, so now we will have more time to work uninterrupted, Yay!!

Let me start by saying that the Road Trip is definitely a go, it will probably be the last one for the year, who knows.

Preparations have started for our  Tool/WIP Bag crochet along a.k.a T/W Bag Road Trip.

I want to design it to hold a nice size project or several smaller projects. While the bag won’t be tiny  it most definitely won’t be massive either, please leave the 50 pounds afghan at home, we need our shoulders to stay healthy and pain-free 🙂

Plus we need a smaller container to keep our hooks and ends in one spot, so that is part of  the design too.

I want to use a thick and chunky yarn or T-shirt yarn, if you do not have any of these two types in your inventory that is okay,  you can use double or triple strand of any nice size yarn.

The hook you choose for this trip should be big enough for the job. Practice with several sizes of hooks until you find the size that works best with your yarn. The best hooks are the ones that glides and pick up the yarn with ease.

Departure date is not set yet but it is in the near future. Transportation this time will be a double-decker bus used for sightseeing, it will probably look like this one:

or this one.  I am leaving it up to you to choose 🙂

pretend you don’t see the name on the bus, just choose the type of double-decker you prefer.

We are doing a sampler type  project this time, this means we will learn new stitches. I have not figured out how many just yet, but I will let you know before hand so you can practice each stitch before departure time. You choose your colors, the more the merrier.

If you need to buy yarn then kindly go to the sale bin or the clearance bin, no need to break the budget at this time of the year.

This is all for now, I am wishing you a very Happy Autumn Weekend……See You Soon….

Happy TGIF Artisans and Bloggers and Followers!! How is it going in your corner of the world?

I am doing fine, if you ask me 🙂 thanks!!

I had to order the metal frames online, because JoAnn’s only had the larger size, so, I bought the group of 5. When it came in,  I got a little sad. I can only use 3, the other 2 are damaged, so I need to return them.

So, I am ready for our trip. Are you ready? did you get all your supplies?? do you need more time??

I want to leave already 🙂 The only thing missing is the graph (I am working on it) and I want you to have that before we leave, that way you can decide which colors go where and how many colors you want to use and so forth.

We are using the SC (single crochet) stitch which you should have mastered by now, and we are going to sew the purse to the frame so we are going to need a needle too.

It is going to be a short fun trip..I hope. I am planning on making more than one, since I have 5 frames 🙂

Changing subjects: did you make your Christmas list yet? have you started working on it yet? I know several bloggers have started already which is excellent.

So, stay tuned, if I can finish that graph today then our trip will leave sometime next week.

I will post it as soon as I get it done, hopefully before the weekend to give you time to print it and organize your colors.

Okay, this is all for now, sending a very big shout out to all my faithful followers and all the new ones and future ones, HUGS!!! 🙂

Happy Weekend, stay safe and enjoy nature….

Happy Tuesday morning Artisans and Bloggers and Readers!!

Monday morning updates are as follows: I received my luxe yarn Big Cozy this past weekend so I am working on adding more rows to my blanket, between you and me, it may end up as a throw if I don’t find a second job 🙂 wish me luck…

I am recycling an old damaged Vanity stool similar to this one

with my tarn yarn. This project is 99% recycled materials, but I am using new yarn too, hoping to give it a little more vibrant look.

Tarn is fine but the color is usually very faded and flat which is not very promising if you want a “vibrant look” for your project.

I want it in my Recycled Room, as a small table.  I may crochet around the legs, the scratched iron legs  are horrible looking. and won’t add to my table..I will let you know what I finally decide…

Next, I want to invite you to join me on my first Road Trip for 2015!! this Road Trip a.k.a Crochet Bowl will be leaving the train station on Monday, February 16th, please be at the gate with your supplies and your music or audio books 🙂

Supplies you are going to need: any color 100% mercerized cotton size 3 I am using this one from Aunt Lydia’s but you

can use the brand that is available to you. The hook I am using is a size 1 crochet hook  but you can use a size smaller or larger, no need to stress if you don’t have the same size hook.

You can use up your stash and use several colors, it doesn’t really matter, just make sure you keep a balanced neat look to your project. If you don’t have a lot of one color then opt to do only highlights, just my suggestion 🙂

Then please choose a small-sized bowl and glue plus starch. This time I am going to experiment with half glue and half starch to see if I can get a really nice stiff bowl.

So, these are our supplies and I believe we can finish our project in about 3 to 5 days.

The train is really nice

So, I am very excited and I hope to see you aboard.

P.S the stitches we are using are very basic so every skill level is welcome, especially beginners, but we may have some easy techniques too 🙂
