Good morning one and all, I am hoping you had a very nice, exciting and relaxing Christmas season.
This Year is a leap year and that only means that we get 1 extra day to do wonderful things with our hooks/needles or sewing machine, etc 🙂
This Year I want to continue to explore different types of yarns and what is best for each project, next, I want to explore the Color Wheel, how colors mix and match.
There’s a lot of good resources out there, I just need to find exactly what I want and see if it fits with what I “see” in my mind.
Have you set goals for 2016 yet? or do you just take it One Day At A Time?
I set goals but I take it O.D.A.A.T that way I can be flexible enough to alter my project until I feel that it is finished to my likeness, sometimes it takes several tries 🙂
Projects: that, I haven’t even gone into so, that is another thing that will develop over time….
Stitches: I most definitely want to learn more stitches and techniques, that is what makes Crochet exciting for me.
Let Us make 2016 exciting, maybe enter as many competitions as possible…. that would be fun… 🙂
And, I almost forgot: I want to finish more WIP before I start new ones, I need to stay focused 🙂

Brilliant, the 29th Feb will have to be a creative day! I have a loose goals this year although a pattern a month is the challenge I have set myself.

I’m like you. I have goals, but let myself take one day at a time in case there is something else I want to try. It’s a good mix of focus and spontaneity.

I don’t think I’d have the patience to do something like that. I think one of my goals for 2016 is to do more thread work….THAT, to me, takes so much patience! It always seems to work up so slowly….and I do like some measure of “instant gratification”. I have been trying to work with lighter weight yarns (sock and fingering weights, e.g.) so I am getting there.
I did make myself a cowl with a lovely Peruvian Pima Cotton and did like that. I think it’s probably close to a DK weight, and it can pretty much be worn year round.
And I just last night ordered a yarn that is 100% spun silk because it was on sale. I saw the email announcement less than one hour before sale ended. Scary because I had to make up my mind rather quickly…But 100% spun silk for half price is hard to pass up, right? Now I have to look carefully and decide what to make with it! SOOO soft and has a lovely sheen. Fiesta yarns are quite pricey, but when they are on sale, it’s time to order…
Happy New Year to you all! Let’s hope we all finish up our WIPs and decide which new stitches and techniques we are going to work on as the New Year progresses.
Hmmm! Leap Year – shall I ask my “significant other” to marry me? We’ve been together for a very long time….maybe it’s time to tie that old knot! We’re not getting any younger, after all!

I love thread too and after you get used to it you can “fly” because it glides off the hook, and is easier on your hands, no pulling and tugging, lol 🙂
